Who runs this site
Mapping Missions is run by Ian at Tendrone, United Kingdom. Contact: [contact address to be confirmed].
Using the planner without an account
You can plan and download missions without registering. The area you draw and the settings you choose are sent to our server to calculate the flight path and generate the mission file, and are not stored. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and fault-finding, which we retain for a short period and then delete.
If you register
We store the minimum needed to run your account:
- your email address and a hashed form of your password, or the identifier your sign-in provider gives us if you sign in with Google or Microsoft;
- missions you choose to save: the area you drew, the flight settings, and the name you gave them.
We do not ask for your name, address or phone number. We do not sell or share your data with anyone. We keep it until you delete your account.
Why we process it
To provide the service you asked for: keeping you signed in, letting you save and reopen missions, and sending you the emails needed to confirm your address or reset your password. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is the performance of a contract with you, and for access logs our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Third parties
- MapTiler provides the map imagery and place search. Your browser requests map tiles and searches directly from MapTiler, which sees your IP address and the areas you look at. See MapTiler's privacy policy.
- Google or Microsoft, only if you choose to sign in with them, under their own privacy terms.
No advertising or analytics services are used.
Cookies
Only essential cookies are set: one to keep you signed in and one to protect forms against forgery. Neither is used for tracking, so no consent banner is shown.
Your rights
From your account page you can download everything we hold about you and delete your account, which deletes your saved missions as well. You can also ask us to correct or erase your data by contacting us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
